General Electric to eliminate 70 American Jobs at Somerset Glass Plant

 GE plant to begin phaseout this month

Current inactivity at Somerset General Electric Glass Plant is due to a normal summer shutdown, according to Alicia Gauer, director of communications, GE Lighting, Cleveland, Ohio. She said production lines will resume June 19 and begin phasing out ahead of a previously announced August 11 plant closing.

The 70 employees currently working at Somerset Glass Plant will be laid off in phases as production lines shut down before the close, Gauer said.
