Kellogg center near Hagerstown eliminates 76 American jobs

76 to lose jobs at Kellogg center near Hagerstown

Kellogg Co., which plans to close its distribution center near Hagerstown, will lay off 76 employees effective July 29, according to a report filed with the state.

It is one of 39 distribution centers the company is closing in a nationwide move to change the way many of its products are delivered — a move that will affect more than 1,000 employees nationwide, according to various reports.

Kellogg has said it is moving from a direct-store delivery network, which uses the distribution centers, to a warehouse model that includes retailers’ networks.
