Millennial News Site Mic eliminates 25 American jobs in ‘Pivot’ to Video

Millennial News Site Mic Lays Off 25 Employees In ‘Pivot’ To Video, a news site catering to millennials, has laid off 25 employees, with about half of the cuts coming in the newsroom.

The job cuts come as part of a “pivot” to video and visual journalism, according to one of the site’s co-founders, CEO  Chris Altchek.

Kelsey Sutton, a Mic reporter, wrote for the site that the layoffs  “include reporters, editors and people on Mic’s audience and analytics teams.” The affected people were informed last Thursday.
