ESPN preparing for more layoffs, report says
ESPN is planning for another round of layoffs which is likely to occur before year’s end, according to Sporting News.
Multiple sources reported that the layoffs could impact 40 to 60 positions within the company and is expected to take place in late November or early December.
On-air television and radio talent could be affected by the layoffs, as well as behind-the-scenes production staffers.
In April 2017, ESPN laid off of more than 100 employees, including well-known talents such as Trent Dilfer, Ed Werder, Danny Kanell and Karl Ravech.
“This time it won’t matter if you’re ‘liked’ or not. It’s not going to be pretty,” one source told Sporting News.
